Change in Meeting Plans - Regular January Meeting Cancelled
Due to anticipated poor participation, I have decided to
cancel the NMMS meeting on Jan 2nd. After experiencing
such low turnout for the last two meetings, it seemed
silly to hold a meeting the day after New Year's. In lieu
of the regular meeting, I will be holding a Board Meeting
at my house, which
I encourage NMMS members to attend:
7:00 pm on Saturday, 13 January 2001.
One of the topics I hope discuss is
the 2001 Annual Foray. I believe it will go a lot more
smoothly if we make some definite decisions early in the
year. If folks have other topics or concerns, please let
me know by the beginning of the meeting, and I will try
to fit them on the agenda. If anyone would like to
socialize a bit before the meeting, you are welcome to
come by a bit early--let's say any time after 6.
I hope this change in plans does not come as a great
disappointment to anyone. We will be holding our
regular meeting on February 6th at the Natural History
Museum Annex.

New Web Address
As many of you will recall, the URL (Website address) for the NMMS
Website has moved around a bit since its inception. At some point during the
last year I moved our Website to space managed by the good folks at Southwest
Cyberport (SWCP). Here, I hope, it will remain
for quite a while. Along with the NMMS site, I am also hosting a few
pages for the fairly recently formed Southern Interior
Mycological Society (in BC), Mountain States
Mycology, and Four Corners Mushroom Club.
The name of the host site for all these pages is MycoWest, and its URL is
http://www.swcp.com/mycowest.
However, I recently registered a domain name for MycoWest: MycoWest.net. Now either URL will
work, but I'm hoping the newer, shorter one will be easier for folks to remember
and use. Going to either of these URL's will place the user at a menu where most
of the NMMS info is only a click or two away.
Holiday Potluck
Thank you once again to MaryLee and John Sparks for their generous hospitality.
The annual Holiday Potluck at their home was a success: good food and even
better company. Thank you to all of you who contributed to this festive
gathering.
