Meeting

    •     (a week later than usual)

  • Bob Chapman will present a slide program on Gasteromycetes.
    •     Since the first Tuesday in November is Election Day, I have re-scheduled the meeting for the second Tuesday (the 14th). The Meeting will be in the Museum's Multi-Purpose Room (MPR).
        Only 7 people attended the October meeting. Because of the small turnout, Bob Chapman suggested that he postpone his October program on Gastromycetes until the November meeting.
    Dues Increase to $20/year
        The NMMS Board, at its October meeting, suggested an increase in annual membership dues. A majority of those members attending the regular meeting approved the increase. For 2001 membership, the dues will be $20 per year. With this additional revenue, we plan to host some notable speakers and elevate the programs from the past pattern of slide shows and videos.
        The dues for NMMS and NAMA memberships should be submitted by December 31st. Dues for NAMA membership (which is now optional for NMMS members) are $32/year. Members can write one check to cover both memberships. Please send a check for the appropriate amount, payable to NMMS, to Sharon Chong.
    Ballot for 2001 Officers
        The current ballot for next year's Officers is as follows:
  • Sharon Chong, Treasurer
  • Mark Kalin, Secretary
  • David Wallis, President
  • Bob Wilson, Vice President.
    •     Although we have a full slate, if any members wish to volunteer or nominate someone else for any position, please contact David Wallis or bring your suggestions to the meeting on November 14th.
    Holiday Potluck
        Another extremely important piece of business we will need to address at the November Meeting is the determination of time and place for December's Holiday Mushroom Potluck.
