Field Trip Report
East side of Sandias

Details:
  • This was a field trip for Don Natvig's UNM Fungal Biology class. We met at Doc Long's at 10:00 and concluded at 12:00.

    Conditions:

  • Shady spots still retained some moisture from recent precipitaion.

    Fungi:

  • There was abundant Aricularia auricula, and we found a couple of (so far unidentified) specimens of orange jelly fungus fruiting on live juniper. There were no ascomycetes found.

    Critters
  • Lots of bear sign, but no bears--and better yet, no bear cubs.
